Ad Copy Writing
"Click here today, we sell lots of things useful for your home, starting from just £5.00" - Wrong
What is wrong with the above?
- We don't know what you sell
- There's no real urgency to click your ad
- £5.00 is cheap, but cheap for what?
Every ad has 3 core components.
- An attention grabber
- A sales pitch
- A call to action
An attention grabber
As the title would suggest, this part of the ad gets your attention. For example, imagine you have searched online for "Garden Hoses".
An ad title such as "We sell garden hoses" is simple, and to the point. It grabs your attention immediately and you can not mistake it
for anything else.
A sales pitch
The sales pitch is important. Again, imagine you have searched online for "Garden Hoses". The title of the ad shows "We sell garden
hoses". The sales pitch of the ad then says "5m, 7.m and 10m, in stock ready for dispatch". This gives you a very quick overview of
the types of products available.
A call to action
The call to action is the most important part of your ad, as a successfully carried out CTA should result in your ad being clicked.
Again, imagine you have searched online for "Garden Hoses". The title of the ad shows "We sell garden hoses". The sales pitch of the
ad then says "5m, 7.m and 10m, in stock ready for dispatch". The call to action should say something like "15% off all orders, must
end Friday, 1pm"
There are many different variables of the above ad and this is something our copyright team will address for you.
